African Samaritan is a registered South African non-profit organisation committed to creating safer communities where women, children and young people can rebuild their lives with dignity. Through practical programmes, compassionate support and strong community partnerships, we help people move from crisis to confidence.

Shereen Elmie
Meet Our Founder
African Samaritan was founded by Shereen Elmie, an accredited facilitator and skills development specialist with extensive experience in leadership, training, recruitment and community development.
Throughout her career, Shereen has worked across the corporate and non-profit sectors, designing and delivering programmes that empower people through education, workplace readiness and skills development. Her passion for serving vulnerable communities continues to drive African Samaritan's mission to create meaningful, sustainable change across South Africa.
